Hello,

Allow me to introduce myself. What is Contagion: Outbreak? In short it's the largest convention of its type in a 500 mile radius planned for Spring 2011 in Nebraska. Contagion is a multi-genre, multimedia convention. This means that instead of focusing on one specific fan base (ie. Anime, Sci-fi, Fantasy, etc...) Contagion will include many different genres including comics, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, movies, etc....

We hope that the 501st Legion will work with us to make Contagion: Outbreak a truly memorable convention.

How are we different than other conventions in the Midwest? First of all variety. As mentioned before, this will be an all-encompassing convention that will bring many different fan bases together. Second, everyone will get something out of it. We are working to make Contagion: Outbreak as inexpensive as possible so that our attendees have more time & money to spend at the convention itself. Who wants to go to a convention only to end up spending hundreds of dollars for hotel rooms and then having a huge admission fee on top of that? We want you to enjoy our convention and spend your money how you want to spend it. We also plan on having very interactive panels. How many conventions have you gone to where you sit in rows of people, usually getting stuck behind the 6'5" 350lb monster, only to have a bunch of talking heads at the front lecture you for an hour? Wouldn't it be more fun to go to a panel where you actually do something? Where you hear your favorite celebrity speak and then get some time to actually meet him/her? Where you learn how to make a latex mask and actually do it instead of hearing someone else tell you how to do it?

We are also going to have props and replicas on site that will be there the whole weekend. There will be something for everyone to see and more! We believe that those who help us out should get something in return. Our volunteers will be rewarded with levels of prizes based on hours volunteered. Our celebrity guests (to be announced later, but I guarantee they're gonna be worth the trip!) will be well treated and we want them to interact with our guests. Who wants to go to a convention and only get to see a celebrity behind a table? That's boring. We want you to be able to meet them!

Our guarantee is that everyone will take something away from our convention.

We are pleased to announce that we have locked in our convention space and dates! We would be honored if you would join us June 10th - June 12th, 2011 at the Omaha/LaVista Conference Center (just off I-80). We have reserved over 60,000 Square Feet of Convention Space that will be filled to capacity!

It's been a while! UPDATES!

We are offering a select number of FREE fan tables for the various fan clubs in the area! The ONLY requirement for a free table is that your fan club must agree to do two (2) 30 minute panels at Contagion: Outbreak OR one (1) 1 hour panel. The panels are an opportunity to tell others about your groups!
